Direct Relief Named Nation’s Number 1 "Slam-Dunk" Charity by Charity Navigator

(Santa Barbara, Calif.) Independent charity evaluator Charity Navigator has named humanitarian medical aid organization Direct Relief International as the top "Slam-Dunk" charity in the United States in a newly released list on CharityNavigator.org.

According to Charity Navigator, the "Slam-Dunk" list represents charities, "not only tops in terms of fiscal health, but also for respecting the rights of donors," all of whom have received 4-star ratings and have donor privacy policies. Direct Relief has been a Charity Navigator Four Star Charity for the past four years, and earlier this year was named one of the "Top 10 Charities Everyone's Heard Of."

In recent years, Direct Relief has spent less than one-half of one percent of its annual support on fundraising and less than one percent on administration, making its efficiency and expense ratings consistently among the best in the U.S.
