The Largest Charitable Medicine Program in the U.S.
Nonprofit health centers and clinics are a critical part of America’s healthcare safety net. These facilities provide comprehensive, culturally competent health services to more than 30 million U.S. residents. Nearly 70 percent of patients have incomes below the federal poverty level, and roughly 23 percent lack health insurance.
Strengthening the Healthcare Safety Net
Those without insurance have few options to receive quality, affordable health care. One essential source of care is the network of nonprofit health centers and clinics located throughout the nation.
Increasing Access to Medication Nationwide
Direct Relief supports nonprofit community health centers and clinics that provide care to underserved and uninsured patients regardless of their ability to pay.
