Update: California Wildfire Response

With three major wildfires continuing to blaze across more than 25,000 acres in California, Direct Relief is in contact with a wide-array of support agencies including its clinic partner network, county public health departments, Medical Reserve Corps units, and the Red Cross.

Friday afternoon, Direct Relief issued an emergency offer of assistance to 60 clinics and health centers in Tehama, Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties through its email and emergency text messaging system.

In preparation for response, fire-related inventory – such as particulate masks, inhalers, and nebulizers – has been staged at Direct Relief’s Santa Barbara headquarters for quick deployment.

Direct Relief is monitoring the latest fire activity in relation to its partner network using Palantir software (pictured below).

The Emergency Response Team will remain active through the weekend, monitoring requests as they arise.

This post, as well as Direct Relief’s Twitter feed, will be updated with the latest news from partners as it unfolds.
