Mozambique is bracing for continued flooding from Cyclone Idai, which is expected to make landfall on Saturday, and rainfall has already inundated several flood-prone parts of the country.

At least 10 people have died in the provinces of Zambezia and Tete as a result of the flooding, according to the United Nations, and the cyclone is expected to strengthen into at Category 3 storm with wind speeds up to 130 miles per hour.

Nearly 2 million people are expected to experience at least Category 1 storm conditions, which can bring heavy rains and winds of at least 74 miles per hour.

Cyclonic activity periodically impacts the country, and in 2015, Cyclone Chedza lead to more than 80 deaths.
