These community health care providers are always on the front line. Now, the battle has come home.
Follow two nurses and a doctor at the Saban Community Clinic in Los Angeles as they reveal the stresses and concerns that confront them daily as they try to maintain ongoing treatment options for their patients in the midst of a pandemic.
The clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center, sits in the shadow of Hollywood, and treats a diverse range of patients – from those experiencing homelessness to out-of-work actors to people who have insurance and live nearby. In 2019, Saban saw almost 117,700 patient visits. In addition to ongoing medical support, Direct Relief has provided the health center with protective gear, medications, and medical supplies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This video was directed and edited by Oliver Riley-Smith and Will Jobe was director of photography. Special thanks to Jeremy Royce, Jamie Tierney, Meredith Riley-Smith, Elain Ng, Lauren Christie, the Saban Community Clinic, and all the medical workers involved in the production.
