Over the past seven days, Direct Relief has delivered 234 shipments of requested medical aid to 37 U.S. states and territories and eight countries worldwide.
The shipments contained 20.9 million defined daily doses of medication, including cardiovascular drugs, antibiotics, surgical supplies, vitamins, and more.
Supporting sri lanka
This week, 86 pallets of emergency medical supplies requested by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health as well as other local healthcare groups are bound for Sri Lanka to support the country’s healthcare system in response to the recent economic crisis.
Since June, Direct Relief has delivered humanitarian shipments to Sri Lanka to bolster the country’s healthcare system as millions face medicine shortages.
Direct Relief works closely with Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sri Lankan Embassy in the United States, the Medical Supply Division, and the National Medicines Regulatory Authority to deliver supplies and will continue to do so.
Direct Relief receives top awards from Charity Watchdogs
For the 12th consecutive year, Direct Relief has earned a renewed four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.
In a report issued in October, the non-profit watchdog CharityWatch gave Direct Relief an A+ grade, its highest rating, based on its independent analysis of how Direct Relief uses donated funds. CharityWatch also named Direct Relief to its list of “Top-Rated Charities Providing Aid in Ukraine.”
Material Support for Ukraine
Since Feb. 24, Direct Relief has provided medical aid to Ukraine weighing more than 2.1 million pounds, or 1,038 tons, with more on the way.
Over the past week, Direct Relief has provided critical emergency items to Ukraine, including COVID-19 medications, insulin needles, antibiotics, inhalers, and more.

These shipments contained 538.8 million defined daily doses of medication valued at $1.7 billion (wholesale), totaling 10.9 million lbs.
