Over the past seven days, Direct Relief has delivered 217 shipments of requested medical aid to 31 U.S. states and territories and sixteen countries worldwide.
The shipments contained 14.4 million defined daily doses of medication, including insulin, antibiotics, surgical supplies, overdose-reversing medications, prenatal vitamins, and more.
Supporting Local Storm Recovery
Starting this week, Direct Relief is hosting the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in response to the recent winter storms and floods. The center is a designated location for individuals and families who have disaster-caused needs to apply for FEMA, California, & other assistance. The center will be open for approximately 30 days. Spanish, ASL and Mixteco interpreter services are available.
Air Quality Preparation
This week, Direct Relief provided 50,000 N95 masks to UC Santa Barbara’s Campus Health Services and Campus Emergency Management in preparation for wildfire and other air quality-impacting events.
Monitoring Texas Storm Impacts
A series of severe winter storms are sweeping across the country this week, already claiming the lives of six individuals as of Wednesday. Ice storms have also caused widespread power outages throughout Texas where more than 300,000 homes and businesses are currently without power.
Direct Relief is actively monitoring the current conditions across the country and is in contact with the Texas Association of Community Health Centers and the Texas Association of Charitable Clinics to assess needs and gather additional information about conditions within the impacted communities.

Material Support for Ukraine
Charity Fund Modern Village and Town recently distributed Direct Relief-donated Baxter medications to medical institutions in Kyiv, Ukraine. Since the conflict began in February 2022, Charity Fund Modern Village and Town has distributed over 158 tons of medical products from Direct Relief.
Since Feb. 24, 2022, Direct Relief has provided medical aid to Ukraine weighing more than 2.4 million pounds, or 1,200 tons, with more on the way.

Since Jan. 1, 2023, Direct Relief has delivered 1,315 shipments to 792 healthcare providers in 50 U.S. states and territories and 37 countries.
These shipments contained 42 million defined daily doses of medication valued at $130.1 million (wholesale), totaling 650,539 lbs.
